To this end she made it necessary for people competing for government positions to take exams and reducing the size of the army and replacing aristocratic military men with learned men.

Engaged couples are finding more creative ways to tie the knot these days but one really unusual way is getting married underwater.
Jules’ Undersea Lodge in Key Largo, Florida offers destination weddings with a difference with their underwater ceremonies for sea-loving brides and grooms.

First, guests must scuba dive to enter the hotel and once they arrive they will be greeted by romantic music and fresh flowers. The ceremony takes place at 3 p.m. in the lodge and it is conducted by an officiant who will scuba dive down to the lodge with the couple. The newlyweds will then celebrate the start of their new life together with a toast, an underwater wedding cake, and a freshly cooked meal that will have been prepared by the hotel “mer-chef” who will also scuba dive to the venue.

Guests attending underwater weddings at the lodge are limited because the lodge can only accommodate up to six people but the venue is perfect for coupes seeking intimate and unique ceremonies.

Brides and grooms do not have to be certified divers to stay at the hotel and Jules’ Undersea Lodge and guests can take a three-hour class to become acquainted with the equipment and procedures that allow them to dive alongside qualified scuba diving instructors before their undersea tropical wedding in Florida.

The Lodge also offers full scuba diving certification packages in just three days so couples can go off and explore the ocean’s stunning marine environment.

The lodge has two bedrooms, a bathroom with hot water, and a common room with a dining and living area and modern amenities include TVs, DVD players, telephones, intercom and a music portal.
